But on more relevant terms, I’m making this on the Japanese topic sections because we will all might learn Japanese in a university classroom environment while using all your other resources. While of course, juggling in your daily uni/college life.

In here, let’s all share our experiences, how are you getting by?, how is your major affecting your studies?, what kind of stuff are you doing in class assuming you are taking a Japanese class?, is AKB being used as an example to teach Japanese by your 先生? You know stuff like that.

This goes for anyone I guess currently in uni/college, and people about to enter college. Oooh, we’ll have a 先輩 + 後輩 system. How exciting is that? For me, I’m neither. I’m just gonna watch you guys call each other 後輩+先輩 lol

University of Edinburgh in September. Still to email the Asian Studies department about post-begi…*ahem* post-INTRODUCTORY classes. I’ll make sure to post back here if I get an answer :) They have a full-year class for 2nd year Japanese majors that is for “intensive kanji writing” – I did all the Jouyou in 2 months and could do RTK 3 in another month :P Admittedly, they have other classes, but a whole year to learn to WRITE kanji is just stupid haha

I know quite a few people who majored in Japanese and I would say you’d be better off focusing on something else. You can study Japanese just as effectively on your own, probably more so. Then you can walk out with some sort of skill set on top of being able to speak Japanese.

Indiana University Southeast, (yes, I’ve finally told you creepy people where I live. lol. I’m sure the fugu will be here soon to haunt me in my sleep) music composition major, taking as much Japanese as I can (stand). As for my minor, I’m kinda clueless on the whole college thing, so I don’t know what the hell that is. I just want to learn about stuff I like. Oh, yea, I’m also taking piano courses so I can learn how to really shred. ;)

My main goal with my college major is to be like my heroes, either to be a big famous artist who brings the Japanese rock style to America and tours around with Gackt and GazettE, or create music for films or video games.

The thing I’m most excited about for college; well, I dunno if it’s just my area, but college is about 80% women, here, most of them young and beautiful. This is what I’m looking forward to most, which may or may not be a bad sign.

I turn 21 in 2 days. How old are you other college kids?
