Get a profile image

Set up a gravatar at http://gravatar.com with the same email you’re using for TextFugu. It should automatically appear a bit after setting it up (sometimes you have to give it a little time, though).

Change my profile name to something that’s not my first and last name?

Sorry about this one – it’s just how it’s set up, and I don’t know how to change the default. You can, however, change it to something else. Click here to edit your profile. You can change the “Display name publicly as” option to something else, like your nickname or your first name only, etc.

Post up an image

For now, you’ll just have to post up a url. Hoping to fix things so you can embed images in the near future!

Post up a video

Same deal as with pictures. For now you’ll just be able to post a URL. Working on fixing this so you can actually embed videos to watch without leaving the forums.

Edit my profile…

You can edit the “about me” in your profile (just hit profile in the top right).

For whatever reason, my nickname was set as default for posting instead of my real name. Maybe it’s because I had posted a few times in the past. (but it’s a different database right? perhaps the admin panel simply got a few tweaks in the meantime)

At any rate, I really like the look and feel of the new forums. Something about the previous layout felt a little strange, but this is totally cool.
