Hajimemashite. Usagi to moushimasu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. I think I pretty much used up what I know without having to look at a phrase book or something. I’d like to visit Japan and be able to get around and speak to people without having to depend on my relatives to translate. Other than that I’d like to keep the grey cells active. I look forward to learning from TextFugu!

KiaiFighter, arigatou for the welcome!
Most of my relatives live in Japan and all of my relatives speak Japanese. I’m the exception ;(. Although I was born in Tokyo, I left too early to remember the language and for some reason I was raised only speaking and hearing eigo. Go figure!

Ahh, interesting!

I’m actually French Canadian, but neither of my parents spoke French. (All of my Grandparents could speak French, but sent their children to English school, so it ended with my parents)

Now I live in Japan and forget all the French I learned in Elementary and High School… It has all been replaced by Japanese. If I even try to speak in French, just Japanese comes out!

Wow, how do you like living in Japan? I think I’d like to do it for a while. Demo, I’d miss Hawaii and would have to come home.

Welcome to TextFugu, Usagi!

Usagi is one of my favourite Japanese words and your picture of a rabbit just adds to the complete awesomeness. T_T

So, are you full Japanese or just partial? It’s so cool that you have a lot of relatives in Japan and that you were born in Tokyo.

Good luck learning Japanese! :D
