Current situation: Working, but have applied to university, starting this autumn, Bachelor in Business and Law.

Why am I learning Japanese? Why are you going to study Business and Law when you can study Japanese?!
I would start by saying that I’m a bit of a freak when it comes to contemporary japanese culture, and we all know what that involves (manga, anime, JRPG, figurines and so on). Don’t ask me about the figurines, I don’t think they are socially accepted here in Sweden, all I know is that my cabinet is full of PVC figurines. The rest is cool.
That said, I also have a interest in Economics, but I do want to separate my interests in work and hobbies (why? That’s who I am, weird).
Wanting to read light novels, manga and being able to understand anime and music with my ears is desired beyond anything else,

Why haven’t you started earlier?!?!
Because kanji frightens me (partially kidding), but reading on forums and blogs have given me courage to start learning japanese (wonders of internet).
So I’ve started with hiragana and yes, I can only A-I-U-E-O (started yesterday, picked up two books I had laying in my self written by Chieko Fujio Düring (teacher in japanese at Gothenburg University, 1974))! The only problems with the books are that they don’t present any solid information in writing japanese, they only present the roman version of words such as ansatsu?! and how to bind words.
