I’m Jess and I’m glad to meet ya. I actually joined Textfugu back around Christmas last year, but I’m finally buckling down and putting my membership to good use. (What can I say, my slacking is a serious hurdle to overcome.)

So my top 5 reasons for learning Japanese:
> Read books/watch dramas in the original language.
> Run away to Japan and land a role on aforementioned dramas as the random background foreigner who only gets a a couple lines of dialogue all season.
>Write a cellphone novel – woo, learning slang!
>Keep a Japanese language blog about life/shopping/eating out in Boston/New England.
>Become a librarian for a US embassy or army base, and get stationed in Japan.

So… some more realistic than others, but I think dreaming big is more fun!

I bounced around chapter to chapter, but slapped myself and started from the beginning.

Trying to dedicate myself to one lesson a day, and it’s actually not that bad. The lessons are usually pretty straight forward, and keeping a language log really helps.
