hello! I’m Victoria, nice to meet you! I’ve been using textfugu for a while (but never really got around to writing on the forums…) and I have to say, it is awesome! I want to study japanese more in college, and eventually teach it. My high school doesn’t have japanese as an option to take, so right now I’m taking french. Ah c’est la vie, as my teacher would say. But while I wait, Textfugu is a great resource for me to get a head-start! I’m glad I found it on youtube (I find such random stuff on youtube, tofugu included haha). Anyways, hi everyone, and thanks for reading this! : )
October 11, 2011 at 8:35 am #19018Hi Victoria! Glad that you’ve made your way to the forums. That’s a bummer that your high school doesn’t offer Japanese, but hope TextFugu is helping out in the meantime :)
October 11, 2011 at 11:13 am #19041Hi Victoria! Welcome! Bummer on your high school not offering Japanese. Mine didn’t either. We just had options of Spanish or French. I took Spanish.
Anyways, good luck with your studies!
~CassandraOctober 11, 2011 at 12:15 pm #19050Thanks! French is fun too, but I just love the japanese language! : D It sounds cool, and I don’t know what but there’s something about it that I find interesting. So why are you learning japanese?
October 11, 2011 at 3:03 pm #19075Welcome to TextFugu, Victoria!
My School doesn’t offer Japanese either but in real life there’s a native Japanese woman in my town and she teaches me Japanese. So, I have my own tutor for Japanese and self learn extra things she doesn’t teach me/elaborate on.
Good luck learning Japanese.
October 11, 2011 at 3:19 pm #19088Victoria, I started learning Japanese because my husband was obsessed with it. He wanted to travel to Japan someday. Well, I hate looking like a typical tourist (no offense to tourists) so decided I would learn the language before we go. Our trip is probably still a few years off but I’m chasing that dream of becoming fluent. I fell in love with the language and culture myself so… :D
