    今日,私は小さい天使です。

I’m from GA. I’ve been studying Japanese the hard way on and of for the past few years (total time of study I’d estimate at around 1-2 years), but invariably I’d forget kanji strokes or what not… learning about radicals has been so helpful. I feel like I’m actually starting to get somewhere.

I’m studying Japanese, because Anime and Manga are fun… but also because I want to hike around Japan and try to connect with locals, get to learn more about the people and culture without a language barrier.

Welcome! You planning to climb Mount Fuji? =)

Gotta say, it’s often amused me that most people in the world will specify which country they come from, but Americans tend to give only their state’s postal code. Not the country or the state, just the two-letter postal code…

It might be a learned habit… It generally feels awkward to write/type GA, US(A), and I happen to come from a state that shares its name with a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia, so it would be doubly confusing if I wrote the name of the state out… and Georgia, US(A) also feels awkward.

What about, say, omitting the state altogether? =P

    Western Australia?

I actually do have a friend from Western Australia, but he generally just says he’s from Perth. On the other hand, I also have a friend or two from Washington state… could be either, though considering the English style, I’m gonna go with the state.
