Sure, if I find myself down in Brighton again, I’ll let you know and maybe we could meet up or something. I quite like Brighton, very diverse place, lots of different people and cultures there. Me and family ordered takeaway sushi from the Yo! Sushi restaurant in Jubilee St. I Absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to eat it again.April 4, 2012 at 7:13 pm #28904For listening practise, I’ll mainly use podcasts. There’s a TON of talk-radio podcasts on iTunes Japan. My main one usually has hour-long episodes with just two guys talking (about what, I’m not really sure). I usually leave one running (at great risk, lol) while I’m on my work shifts with headphones.
I’ll also use anime, though I haven’t watched some in what seems like forever. Games are good as well.
And my favourite (though relatively expensive) way, is to visit my favourite Japanese restaurant and just listen to the staff talk amongst themselves. They’ll also talk to me, so I get some speaking practise in.
I wish I could find some easier audio though. I find that listening to a lot of stuff I can’t understand can sometimes become a very frustrating and discouraging experience.

April 4, 2012 at 7:40 pm #28908Talk CD’s are absolutely fantastic if you can get over the embarrassment factor. They’re fairly lengthy, with clean audio, and a whole variety of different speakers.
April 8, 2012 at 5:24 pm #29045@kanjiman – Best sushi in town is moshimoshi, however e-kagen do fantastic bowls of yasai-udon Nom. Although sushi just seems like an expensive way to eat rice when your a vegetarian – Give me noodles and miso any day! – But seriously e-mail me man: ct_lm@live.com
@Gigatron Over the last couple of days i’ve started tuning into J-talkradio, however most of the stations are offline coming up into the evening (fuck you time zones!) I actually quite enjoy picking up on random words ‘Oh yeh, I totally understand かっこいい! このおいしい猫..’ Seriously, sometimes I wonder what I’m getting myself in for with Japanese when I understand Cool, this tasty cat (was)… ERMMMMMM.
Also this: https://www.erin.ne.jp/en/ – Which is a bit lame, but it has a hot girl as the protagonist.. Meh.April 9, 2012 at 11:33 am #29053@ iso
