So I’m sort of twiddling my thumbs right now. After Anki reviews and starting RTK (and finishing the 150 for today. too much/too little?), I’m trying to think of other ways to study.
I could study the vocab lists on this site, but I did all my reviews for today and I’m not sure if it’d be wise to start on the い adjectives lesson without finishing な (so I don’t get overwhelmed with word lists to study)… and I don’t want to burn out by just doing that.
I guess what I’m getting at is; any suggestions? Should I start a new vocab list without fulling knowing the な (there are maybe 4 or 5 I’m still iffy on) … also, does “Reviewing early” on Anki mess up your card flow? I’ve been itching to do that a lot but I don’t want to mess with my daily routine or put cards way too far ahead. I’m still not quite sure how it all works.
Since I have a ton of time on my hands at the moment all I want to do is studystudystudy more, but I need more to do.. I’m constantly thinking, hmm.. there’s always something I could be doing, but what? :O
Any suggestions would be helpful.
May 27, 2011 at 8:45 pm #11585From my experience i would say not to start on the い adjectives before knowing all of the な adjectives.. i totally burnt out doing that in february and only started again 3 days ago…but then again everyone is different. if you know most of the na adjectives and you don’t have much left then go for it, but otherwise i would say do something else. i’m not sure about the review early function on anki.. i’m looking into it so i’ll tell you if i find something. :)

May 28, 2011 at 3:38 am #11595Well if you’re stuck with nothing to do, surely doing more vocab won’t overwhelm you, right? It’ll just fill in the gaps, so instead of having nothing to do tomorrow as well, you’ll have い-adjectives to review :)
Also, I’d recommend you don’t review early – there is a logic behind the reviewing intervals and I’m sure you’d get less benefit if you just ignore the “Spaced” part of “Spaced Repetition Software”. If you get a card right only because you saw it earlier on that day, you’re not giving your brain a good enough stretch :P That’s just my feeling though.
