I would merely like to request that if one is to indeed create a philosophy thread that everyone please be respectful of the beliefs of others. If you mean no offense then please refrain from calling millions of people ignorant, gullible, sheepish, etc. Comments such as these are by their nature offensive.

Please note that though I am a Christian, and it is PART of the reason I am here, that I do respect all beliefs and will not judge you based upon them.

Regardless of where our beliefs lie, or our purposes for being here, I hope that we may all be able to help eachother theough the that learning Japanese poses.

Welcome Michael! I am also incorporating the Genki textbook (1st edition though) into my studies, and I agree that it can be a bit hard to remember (especially compared to TextFugu). Best of luck with your goals!

Thank you, I hope you do well also. The vocab and kanji are hard but grammer isnt so bad, at least up to ch 7.

Hey Michael, welcome to TextFugu! What got you interested in learning Japanese?

    Good luck with your studies!

A friend of mine is going to minor in Japanese when they go off to college and somehow we got on the subject of using the apple app store to find learning tools. I took it upon myself to look and i just ended up using them. Originally i thought i would learn so that i would not need subtitles, i cant use them anyway. After a few months of barely scratching the surface, it took months to learn hiragana, i realized i needed a better reason, which i promptly found and have been better off for it.
