Conflict

on’yomi kun’yomi Radicals
そう あらそ.う + +

Meaning: Conflict

There’s an enclosure holding in a wolverine, and there’s barbed wire all around that. This is the secret weapon, that will end the conflict in this war-zone.

The conflict is a war in the area. But, when you release the wolverine, it zips over to the enemy side, and takes out everyone. This was no ordinary wolverine, of course.

Reading: そう

Strangely enough, after all the carnage while solving the conflict, the wolverine just comes back and sits down in his cage and starts to sew a jacket. It’s nice.

The wolverine really wants to start his own sewing company. After this whole conflict thing gets better, he’s going to go back home and do that. Of course, this is super weird, so hopefully it will help you to remember this kanji and it’s reading.

Vocabulary

Only one word to learn right now – more to learn later as you learn more kanji.

a 争う(あらそう)= To Dispute, Argue

  • Meaning: Pretty much the same as the kanji, but the verb form of it. When you do a conflict, you argue and dispute.
  • Reading: The kun’yomi reading is a bit heavy. I’d try to get it in your head to the best of your ability and then rely on the study deck to get you through this darkness.
