Meaning: Each
Each and every mouth was cold during these winter months. Each mouth was frozen shut, too.
Imagine yourself thinking back to the winter mouth days… you are trying to remember… did each mouth have this winter mouth syndrome? Or, was it just some?
Reading: n/i
The on’yomi reading isn’t important enough to learn, so we’ll learn the awesome kun’yomi reading with the vocab.
Vocabulary
Learn these two words before moving on.
a 各(かく)= Each & Every
- Meaning: Same as the kanji, pretty much.
- Reading: Think of something that happens each and every day. Like clockwork, the cock (かく) (that’s a rooster, you sicko) crows to wake you up at 4am.
a 各自(かくじ)= Each Person
- Combo: 各 (each) + 自 (self)
- Meaning: Makes sense, since each self is a person and individual.
- Reading: There’s no good on’yomi for 各, but it’s usually treated like an on’yomi. That’s why this on’yomi and kun’yomi are mixing together to form the reading of this word.
