Strong

きょう つよ.い + +

Meaning: Strong

There’s a pile of insects on top of a spring. Because the pile is so big, you need to be extremely strong to push it down enough to launch the huge pile of insects.

Look at this pile of insects on the giant spring. Try to pull the spring down. You absolutely can’t. Now imagine a bodybuilder coming along and pulling it down, launching the insects into the air. He’s a body builder, so he’s strong enough.

Reading: きょう

To remember the reading for きょう we use the Japanese word, 今日 (きょう). – When the body builder is watching you try to pull the spring down (you aren’t strong enough, though), he gets impatient (must be all the steroids). He starts yelling: “Can you do this 今日, maybe?JEESH.”
