Meaning: Association

There’s thread going through a slightly altered eye radical. Obviously the longer line on the bottom of the eye someone trying to close their eye shut as someone strings a thread through it (ouch!). How did this all happen? You joined the local sewing association, thinking you’d learn how to sew. Instead, you get thread in your eyeball!

Imagine showing up to this place. Then, sit down and start sewing. Things start getting weird, though. The teacher tells you all to find a partner, because all the new people need to go through a special ritual. Turns out that ritual is getting thread put through your eye, because it gives you powers to sew better. You wish you had chosen the other sewing association instead.

Reading: そ

As they’re threading your eye up, all the old ladies are sitting around you chanting: “Sew! Sew! Sew! Sew! Sew!”

Imagine how panicked you’d feel by this. You can’t escape – too many old ladies surrounding you. So, you just have to take the thread through your eyes and let them sew, sew, sew, sew.
