Radicals: Good + Drop

Meaning: Good

A good drop of water sure tastes good. Especially on a hot summer’s day. Good water isn’t always easy to come by, and when you’re thirsty, a good drop or water really does taste very good. So good, you find yourself wanting drop after drop of it.

Imagine you’re dehydrated. All you want is a good number of water drops to drink. Picture how refreshing drinking these many drops of good water would be.

Reading: よ

While not quite as good as a drop of water, a drop of yogurt (よ) would be better than nothing in such a situation. Yogurt can be refreshing too, and it contains some drops of water, so a good drop of yogurt is better than nothing.

Picture the same situation as before except this time you’re refreshing yourself with a drop of yogurt, frozen yogurt even. Imagine your favorite flavor of frozen yogurt and how great it tastes on a really hot day.
