Run

on’yomi kun’yomi Radicals
そう はし.る

Meaning: Run

The radical run and the kanji run are exactly the same!

Make sure you know those radicals!

Reading: そう

To remember the reading そう we use the word “sew.” – You’re running and running and running. You can’t stop. In fact, you run so hard, your leg just falls clean off from overuse. You stop and grab it, then try to sew (そう) it back on again.

Of course, imagine yourself sewing on your leg. How much would it hurt? Would it stay on or be floppy? Maybe if you used a sewing machine?
