Meaning: Small Animal
In the cage there are sets of legs… at least that’s what you can see. The rows and rows of cages are full of these legs, so you squat down and look inside to see the whole thing. Each cage has a small animal inside, and they look really sad and pathetic :( Maybe you can save them?
This is a counter (that goes after a number) used to count small animals, like dogs, cats, and so on. Just know it has something to do with small animals (and if you’re really cool, you’ll know that it’s for counting them).

There’s no on’yomi reading, so you don’t even have to worry about it. How nice!
Vocabulary
Not all of the vocab below use ひき for the pronunciation, exactly. Some of them are changed to ぴき or びき, depending on the number before it. As with other kanji you’ve seen, this is just because it’s easier to say certain things if you modify the pronunciation of it slightly. The meaning, however, stays the same. Make sure you pay close attention to the pronunciation of each number.
