Meaning: Writing
The doll means writing. Imagine a doll, walking around. It’s evil, obviously. You don’t see it walking around, but you know it is. You keep finding nasty notes… writing that she has done while you’re asleep, telling you nasty things and threatening you.
Feel the fear of this as if it were actually happening. Writing? From a doll?? Imagine the things she could write to you and be afraid. Dolls really are terrifying.
Reading: ぶん, もん
This is one of the unfortunate situations where the kanji has multiple important readings to learn… The writing states a couple of demands. First, the doll demands that you give her more buns (ぶん). Second, she demands you stop calling her a monster. She does not appreciate this.
Make sure you read these demands out slowly in your mind. Think about each demand she has, and think about how ridiculous they are. First of all, dolls don’t eat buns. Second, she’s totally a monster. You better make a decision, though, and act it out in your head. Dolls don’t like to be kept waiting.
Vocabulary
Sure, there is a kun’yomi in existence, but you won’t see it enough to make it worth learning right now. Keep that brain open with some extra free space for now so you can use it on something more important… like common words, or the next kanji (or that pesky second on’yomi you had to learn).
a 文(ぶん)= Sentence, Text
- Meaning: Same as the kanji, basically.
