City

on’yomi kun’yomi Radicals
n/i +

Meaning: City

The cross is on someone’s head. Only important people can wear big crosses on their head – and important people live in the city.

You can imagine other priests in smaller towns and villages you walk through… they don’t have a cross on their head. But, when you get to the big city, the priests have very elaborate and fancy crosses on their heads – that’s how you know you’ve come someplace big.

Reading: し

The city you are imagining has one main leader, though. You need to go see him. Since the leaders of this city have crosses on their heads, you know that you’ll probably find the mayor in a church. Sure enough, you’re right. It’s Charlie Sheen. He looks up, and beckons you.

You walk up to him. Now, request something of the Mayor, Charlie Sheen. What will you request? Come up with something silly and city-related.
