Before You Start Kanji 2.0

Hey There!

Before you start using the “new and improved” Kanji Section, I just wanted to give you an idea where everything moved to (as well as a quick explanation on how to use all the new stuff).

First of all, “Old Kanji” has been moved over to the “Old Kanji” menu tab. This is what was there before, and will slowly get phased out as the new kanji pages catch up. Feel free to use either, but use the new section as much as you can. Updates to the new kanji section will be happening fairly quickly (i.e. as soon as I finish them), so keep looking under the new “Kanji” tab to see what’s new and what’s been added (another good way to get notified is through Twitter, as well).

If you’ve never studied kanji before using TextFugu, then you should start with the “new” kanji. It’s better in a lot of different ways.

If you’ve studying kanji before using TextFugu, then I’d still recommend you go back and at least skim over the new content. A lot has changed, and it never hurts to review, right?

As always, if you have any questions, comments, recommendations, or issues with the new kanji section, please e-mail me! So many awesome changes have been made thanks to folks like yourself.

Anyways, I’m really excited about all the changes in the new kanji section. It’s definitely been a long time coming, and it’s still a work in progress, but I think you’re going to like what’s changed. :)

Cheers!
Koichi
