Possible

n/i +

Meaning: Possible

The technology to cloak a mouth… did you know that sort of thing is actually possible??

I’d be amazed by that if I saw that. Imagine yourself watching the technology to cloak a mouth… the mouth disappears right in front of your face, and a mouthless person is now talking to you. What would the first thing you’d think be? Proabably something along the lines of “that’s not possible!”

Reading: か

Then the scientist says “you thought that shouldn’t be possible, wait until you see me cloak a car (か).

That sort of thing makes more sense, though. People in movies always want to cloak cars. But, this scientist is going to do it for you, right now, after you watch the mouth cloaking technology. I bet you thought none of this was possible, right?

Vocabulary

Only one word word to learn now, but it contains three kanji *gasp*! Luckily, it’s three kanji you know already, hopefully. Later on you’ll get a bunch more words with this kanji.

a 不可欠(ふかけつ)= Indispensable, Essential

  • Combo: 不 (non-) + 可 (possible) + 欠 (fail)
  • Meaning: Things are so important and essential that it’s not possible to fail them (if you do, then that’s terrible new!).
  • Reading: The on’yomi readings of all the kanji. Lots of kanji, but try and figure out each one individually, recalling the on’yomi for each kanji before moving forward.
