Meaning: Same
You see a person with a head that has a mouth and a flat shaped single eye. How unique, you think. But, then you look around. Every single person has the same exact face and head. They are all identical, amazingly.
Start this one off by imagining a very unique and distinct face / head. Get it in your own head that this face is super unique. Then, and only then, you can look around only to see that everyone else has the same exact head and face. How can something unique be the same as everything else? It’s amazing. It’s surprising… but, it’s happening.
Reading: どう
When we need to remember the reading どう we use the word “dog.” – Each of these faces that are exactly the same as everything else have something odd going on with them… you don’t quite know what it is until you pull one of the faces off. Underneath is a dog (どう) … a very unique dog.
Turns out the dogs were just trying to fool people by wearing costumes. They didn’t realize that it would be odd to all have the same costumes, though, so when you pull off all the masks to reveal all the different dogs, their plan is foiled.
