試
Try, Attempt
On’yomi: し
Kun’yomi: こころ.みる
Radicals: Say + Construction + Drunkard
Meaning: Try, Attempt
A drunkard can say what he will about construction, but try as he might, every attempt he makes at it will fail. A drunkard is going to be no good at construction. You can’t be drunk and do construction – it’s dangerous and you’ll do a poor job. Don’t even try it.
Imagine trying to do construction as a drunkard. Imagine attempting to level cement, put up a wall, or something else. It’d be difficult and you certainly wouldn’t do a very good job of it.
Reading: し
Probably the only drunkard who could try and succeed at having an attempt with drunken construction would be Charlie Sheen (し). All Charlie Sheen does is win, and since he’s winning all the time, he’d probably win at drunken construction if he gave it a try.
Charlie Sheen looks like a drunkard most of the time. Imagine him doing construction – would you hire him? Picture him attempting a job, blabbering on about winning as he chugs beers.
