“Why So Possessive”
We’ll of course continue to practice the の particle as we learn other things (it’s pretty common, after all), so your goal should be to gain a general understanding of the particle, not a 100% understanding of it. Give these things time and consistency and good things will happen.
We’re mostly going to just look at sentences for this chapter. There’s a decent amount of them covering a variety of things. Let’s get started!
Sentences
Go through the sentences with the goal of being able to read them all out loud and quickly. Use the audio provided to practice pronunciation of each of these sentences. Remember, it’s not a single sentence that will help. If you focus on each sentence and do a good job on each sentence for, say, a thousand sentences, that’s really awesome. The better job you do on each sentence, the better the overall progress is. That’s the main goal with these, so don’t skip over any or skimp on the practice – it’ll hurt you in the end.

After you’ve gone through these sentences, it’s time to learn their meanings (or, learn the meanings of the ones you don’t already know). For that, import this Anki deck into your “TextFugu Sentences” deck.
When Anki tells you to stop, it’s time to start wrapping up Season 2!
Before You Move On:
Just a little housekeeping:
- Make sure you understand the の Particle.
- Make sure you’ve learned the 3-3 Kanji and Kanji Vocab.
- Make sure you can read (out loud) the above sentences (and know their meaning)
- Make sure there’s nothing in particular you don’t really understand in Season 2 (or 1). We’ll be going over everything here in just a moment, so it’s good that you have a solid base on everything before we practice it and make it better.
