Developing A Sense Of Identity
“The value of identity of course is that so often with it comes purpose.” - Richard R. Grant
Holy identity crisis, Batman! In Japanese, there are so many ways to refer to yourself (or refer to someone else, for that matter). I’m going to show you a list of things, and I don’t want you to be worried. Remember the 80-20 rule? More likely than not, you’ll only be using one or two of these things from each list, so in terms of raw memorization, it won’t be that bad at all. Still, I want to show you all the other versions so you know when (or when not) to use them. There’s also a cheat sheet at the end of the chapter you can print out and use if you need to reference something.
