How’s the View?

“Look at life through the windshield, not the rear-view mirror” - Byrd Baggett

I imagine that looking back at your accomplishments is a little bitter-sweet. It probably feels great that you’ve come so far in so little time (I’m guessing about a month?), but on the other hand you have so much left to accomplish. So far, though, you’ve really been in the passenger’s seat, and now it’s time to make the change. You will now be given control of the gear shifters, and you’ll be able to take this ride as fast or as slowly as you’d like. I’ll give you all the tools you need to either take your time, or slam the accelerator down to the floor. You’ve finally gotten to the top of that first mountain, and now it’s time to run down the other side for a little while.

Let’s turn our sights forward, now. What does Season 3 have in store for us? We’re going to start by learning some more time-saving techniques. Things that will help you get your work / school stuff done more quickly (without losing quality) and give you more time to learn Japanese. We’ll also talk about sneaky things you can do to study in your off time, or even passively.

After that, we’ll be moving away from nouns and start to learn both adjectives and verbs. Finally, you’ll be able to hold a decent conversation with someone. Although you’ll be learning a lot of new stuff, everything builds on everything else in a really sweet pattern (if I do say so myself). Take your time and learn things well. If you do, every lesson will get easier, not harder. Kanji learning will start getting faster as well. You have the experience you need to learn kanji faster and more effectively, so expect that to take off a little bit.

Anyways, I don’t want to hold you up. It’s time to get started. Remember, we’re going to be running downhill for a while, so be careful not to trip!

When you finish this page, you’ll have finished Season 2. Really really well done. Why not let me know on Twitter?
