Japanese Colors

“They’ll sell you thousands of greens. Veronese green and emerald green and cadmium green and any sort of green you like; but that particular green, never.” - Pablo Picasso

I don’t normally do lessons around subjects (like colors), just because I think it’s more important to learn why something works and then apply it to said subjects… but colors are just too weird to ignore. Colors in Japanese go back and forth between being nouns, い adjectives, and な adjectives, and it’s often hard to tell the difference between each. At the very least, you’ll learn about Japanese colors. Most likely, though, you’ll gain a better understanding of nouns and adjectives as a whole (and learn that color stuff as well, which is nice).

With a lesson like this, the first thing you’re going to do is take a look at vocabulary.
