6. Learning Them

Learning Them

“My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.” – Abraham Lincoln

Let’s take a look at this table. Be sure to look at both the transitive and intransitive version of each verb. You’ll recognize a lot of verbs, but probably only one side or the other. Both are important. After you’ve carefully looked through each one, download the Anki deck and import it to your “TextFugu Vocab” deck.

Don’t pay too close attention to the kanji – it’s there because I want you to start seeing more kanji now that you’re getting better at it, though only some of the words below will have kanji you’ve learned so far.

I want you to start studying these in your “TextFugu Vocab” deck (import this). It’s kind of a tough list, but we’re going to go through more examples of these through this chapter and future chapters as well.

Transitive & Intransitive Verbs

When you’ve imported it and studied some, you can move on to the next page where we’ll look more at how these verbs work (and when to use which).

By finishing this page, you’ve started studying the transitive and intransitive verbs, and begun the process of separating them out in your mind, too!
