Te-Form Verbs
“You think the shadow is the substance.” – Mevlana Rumi
Welcome to the first chapter of Season 7! That’s like… a lot of seasons. Right here marks (at least I’m guessing, as I write this) the halfwayish point for TextFugu. Although it’s the halfway point, I imagine you’ll learn around twice as much in the second half as you learned in the first half. Why? Because first half was all about the foundation. This second half is more about accelerating off of said foundation. So, I hope you’re all reviewed up and ready to go.
The first thing we’re going to look at is a pretty big thing you’ll use all the time: Te-form. Te-form allows you to do all sorts of great things. You can combine a couple shorter sentences together (making longer, more “fluent” sentences), you can learn all kinds of new grammar that you couldn’t learn before (because a lot of grammar uses te-form) and you can even tell people what to do. Te-form is incredibly flexible and makes it so you can learn many new (and useful things). So, let’s get started.
