Oh, winterpromise31, another benefit of the Ultimate Verbs list: it really helps get your head around the whole transitive/intransitive thing. Seeing so many examples of each helps understand the concept but it also helps you remember certain “rules” when it comes to pairs. While there are no hard and fast rules, you begin to notice several different patterns emerging which is great for remembering which is which (while it may be riddled with exceptions, it’s handy for the ones that DO fit the bill). For example (transitive/intransitive): 始める/始まる, 当てる/当たる, 見つける/見つかる (there aren’t *many* of these “rules”, but that seems to be the most prevailant one).
