    Hello everyone!

    I’m Artiom, in Canada, and I started this pretty much on a dare from my friend (who’s taking Japanese classes). We spent an hour together, after which I’ve decided I’m interested. Following the finding of this textbook (Oh my god it’s great up to now… hiragana and katakana memorized in 2-3 days, with kinks here and there of course, so still need to practice), I’ve decided I want to be able to read mangas and listen to (and understand) anime in their original languages (because that’s when it’s the best).

    I used to do tutoring in Math, French, English and Science and I’m told I teach pretty well (seriously no bragging, just quoting :S). So if you have any questions, shoot and I’ll do my best to answer them.

    I hope we all have a blast learning Japanese and wish you best of luck (and plenty of SD points)!

    P.S.: I was wondering how many of you use WaniKani to learn your Kanji. Is it useful on top of TextFugu or would it have to be used instead of?

    Welcome! I’ve done a fair bit of tutoring myself – volunteer work only, though – so I’ve got the same offer for you: if you’ve got any questions, feel free to shoot them this way. =P

    Speaking of kinks, though, it’s こんにちは. =)

    As for kanji, WaniKani basically replaces the kanji section of TexuFugu (though not the grammar lessons). I probably ought to spend more time in WaniKani (been ages since I did any actual kanji study) but every time I catch sight of the WaniKani subscription costs…

    Wooooops =)

    Thank you for catching that. That subscription cost does indeed seem high. Although with 50% off I’m considering buying the lifetime one (it’s about the equivalent of 3 years pay … 1.5 with 50%). Which is very decent since it will be useful for a lot longer.

    I’ll decide after I get to level 3 though. Plenty of time until then.
