Good day everyone, I’ll try to keep this introduction brief.

I’ve been observing this forum for about 2-3 months. This is also roughly the same amount of time that I’ve been learning Japanese. At first, I was a bit hesitant joining a forum, but after observing for a while this place to join due to its small size and relatively friendly atmosphere. I’m a little anti-social so I don’t usually handle social endeavors very often. However, I felt that I needed to handle some new experiences so doing some new things would broaden my horizons.

When I learned enough Japanese, I hope to be able to one day visit Japan, read/ watch Japanese television/media, and just involve myself in Japanese culture. It’s a little vague at the moment.

Why do I want to learn? It’s a little personal for me, but basically thanks to Japanese, I feel like I’ve rekindled interest and motivation that I felt like I’ve lost. I might go into the story another time if it’s appropriate.

Currently, I’ve managed up to kanji number 1058 in RTK (5th ed.), and I’ve started skimming through Textfugu and Tae Kim’s site for grammar points and a little vocab. RTK tends to get tedious and tiresome after a while so I thought I’d mix it up a little.　I think I’ll increase my pace a bit so I can finish the RTK book a little sooner and start seeing more tangible results.

With all of that said, I hope we can all get along. Forgive any grammatical mistakes as I wrote this around 6:40 am.
