Hi everyone!
I’m Ryan. I’m not new to TextFugu, and got about halfway through taking the lessons Chapter by Chapter before, but I got super busy with life a few years ago (i.e. marriage and child) and so put several things on the back burner. Now I am back and I am starting fresh. Below are my reasons for learning Japanese. All were the same as before, except one has been added and is in the process of becoming a reality as we speak:
Why Are You Learning Japanese?
1. I’d like to be fluent in another language
2. I’d like to watch anime without subtitles
3. I’d like to meet and have Japanese penpals online (or MSN or Skype)
4. I’d like to not just speak but listen and understand too
5. I’d like my daughter to enjoy this aspect of my life
6. I’d like to sing along to SCANDAL!
7. I’d like to open a fairly authentic Japanese ramen restaurant in the futureI hope to talk to all of you soon!

I imagine it’s either the restaurant or the daughter that is “in the process of becoming a reality”. In either case (in fact, in both cases), congratulations.
