こんにちは！ジェイソンです。はじめまして！

Hello everyone, I’m Jason.  Nice to meet you!  I’ve had a growing interest in the Japanese language for a number of years, but I didn’t really start putting a lot of effort into it until last year.  I’m certainly no stranger to the language due to my experiences, but I would still consider myself to be a beginner in many ways even though I know the kana, a handful of kanji, and can speak some simple phrases.

The main reason for me learning Japanese is that my wife is Japanese, and learning the language has been helpful in feeling closer to her but also to be able to communicate with her non-English speaking family.  I’ve had a little bit of success with this, but I definitely want to take it farther.  I’m interested in experiencing more of the Japanese culture, reading books and manga, watching anime and movies that might never come to the US.

I’m looking forward to continuing my progress and maybe even make some new friends along the way.
