O.k… so I saw a cup, and I was like, “That is not my cup”….
I then thought that in Japanese it would be “あれはぼくのじゃありません。”
But I thought this was weird because の is just hanging out without anything in front of it that is a noun etc.
Is this correct, or would it be ぼくのあれはじゃありません。毎秒は一世一代。You forgot to say “cup” in Japanese which I think is カップ.
The correct sentence should be something like: あれはぼくのカップじゃありません
Both あれは僕のじゃありません and あれは僕のカップじゃありません are correct.
That is not mine.
That cup is not mine.

Though the first might confuse people unless it’s clear from the context that you’re talking about cups. “Is this your cup?” “No, that one’s not mine.”
