Anki just marked one of my cards a leech … first off I couldn’t find any way to “unleech” it… so I deleted and re-added it (but it had to be different… frickin frackin…). Then I wanted to turn off the whole mother-lovin’ auto-leech thing altogether so it never, EVER happens again… Can’t find any such option! I abhor the Anki (non)help site (which I did look at, but couldn’t find any help of course), so I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get rid of this leech crap. Running what I think is the newest Anki, v1.2.8. Thanks!

It marks it a leech by adding a tag “leech” it also suspends the card. All you have to do is un-suspend it and remove the tag (if you want to). If it’s marked it as a leech, that means you’ve failed it 16 times (default). It does this to point out to you that you should probably take some effort to relearn that card in a new way because what you have been doing isn’t working.
The leech settings can be adjusted if you go to settings/deck properties/advanced.

Ah, thanks! I had removed the tag from the card, but it remained “suspended” anyway. I wasn’t able to figure out where to “un-suspend” it (still don’t know how…). Thanks for pointing out that there is something on the Advanced tab — looked there twice and didn’t see the “Suspend leeches” checkbox at the bottom. Hopefully by unchecking this, Anki will leave now my flippin’ cards alone!! ^_^

You can also go to Edit/Browse Items then there is a button “Toggle suspend”, which I think stops the card suspension.

In here you can also “un-suspend” cards, by going to the filter and select “Suspended” to show all suspended cards, then you can un-suspend them (sorry I can’t remember the next bit, but you’ll see it)
