Hi! My name is Julia, I’m 26 and a Chef at Katsuya in Los Angeles!
Katsuya (americanized japanese food) is my very first career step towards moving to Japan in 2-3 years to learn to cook Kaiseki from the pros! I’ve inundated myself in japanese street style, products, manga, food, and more for years and after reading a few book about Japanese history and Bushido earlier this year, I’m pretty sure its a place I’d love to live.

So here we go! On to chapter 2. :)

Welcome! It’s great that you’re already a chef. Since you read manga, have you ever read Shokugeki no Souma (aka Food Wars)?

I actually just bought me a Japanese cookbook the other day…

Hey! No I haven’t read that! Ill check it out. I’m reading Lone Wolf and Cub right now.

Happy cooking!! By the by, the one cookbook everyone should have is Larousse Gastronomique. Be aware, it’s pricey, but this like the chef’s handbook.
