Hello from Germany! This isn’t my first post here, but whatever. I’m Lukas, a 19 year old student. I’ve been interested in Japanese for a while – there’s just something fascinating about the language… and the culture surrounding it. As you can guess, I also enjoy manga/anime and I would love to be able to enjoy them in their original form. Travelling to Japan is quite a big dream of mine. I started looking around for Japanese online courses about 10 months ago but didn’t find anything encouraging. However, I did get to learn hiragana and katakana through various resources. For some reason, that’s where I stopped, and I hate myself for that. It’s wasted time. It’s not like I had so much to do — I just stopped learning Japanese. Recently, my interest came back and I stumbled upon this site and it looked kind of… nice and easy to follow, so I signed up. That was about a week ago. I’m now ~ at the end of chapter 4. Going to slow down now, learning Japanese has… consumed me. It’s all I do. I guess I should focus on uni instead… we’ll see.
