    Hello!
You can call me Karnilie (which is the elvish translation of my name) and I’m an Italian girl. I’m sorry if I make mistakes in English, but not being my first language I do understand it (at least I hope so ^^) but I’m not very good at writing or speaking it. (If you find errors please tell me, so I can learn better English too)

For a few years I’ve wanted to learn Japanese, but I always found excuses to not do it (or “not to do it?” ç_ç). But when I found TextFugu I made up my mind, and here I am.

I want to learn Japanese because I like Japan and Japanese culture, I’d like to be able to read books (and manga) in their original language because when a book is translated it always lose something.
Eventually I’d like to go to Japan, but for that one I need to start saving money (very long term goal ^^).

Karnilie – welcome! Your English is good. :)

I think learning Japanese to be able to read the books is a good goal. I agree that translation always loses something! It’ll be great to read material in the original language.

“I always found excuses to not do it” – To be more clear, you could say “I always found excuses to avoid learning” or “I always found excuses to not learn.” :D

Welcome and good luck with your studies!
    ~Cassandra
