    Hi there

My name is Emma, I’m 34, work as a secretary and I am a newbie at Japanese.

I’m learning Japanese because: I want to read my favourite Japanese novels in Japanese, travel to Japan and cycle all the way around it, escape my mundane office job by using my brain, to try something new, to open up new career/study options, to write to my Japanese penfriend, to be able to understand Japanese films… And, errrr, because Japanese looks and sounds beautiful.

I’ve signed up to a Japanese class at a local college to get experience in speaking Japanese too.

Excited to get started with Textfugu!

    Welcome to TextFugu!

You’ll find that the classes will help a lot in starting you out. In my experience the first two levels are usually really good then I get bulldozed by the third, being way too overwhelming. You might have a more natural knack for languages though.
