As suggested, here’s my reason for learning Japanese. I’ve always had a fascination with Japanese culture, but I intend to major in music. So in a perfect fusion of music and love of all things foreign (particularly Japanese – duh), I plan to study ethnomusicology- specializing in Japanese traditional music. When I go to college and embark on my career, I intend to do field research during the school years / summers in Japan. Heck, I might even live there someday!
