    Hello everybody!

My name’s Carlos and I’m from Madrid, Spain.

It’s been a really LONG time since I bought my lifetime subscription to Textfugu until I’m finally starting.

I guess I’m one of those who have started and quit from learning japanese a bazillion times, I went to language school where teaching system was a pain in the ass, slow and with no teaching interest at all from the teachers, tried private lessons, but teacher’s schedule and mine never fitted, triend self teaching with some books…

I discovered Tofugu LONG time ago, and really had a big time reading all the articles so I finally decided to by the lifetime subscrition, but job changes, family issues, moving and quite a long list of things that came up kept me distracted from my learning japanese wish.

    BUT! finally I’m here.

So, even though I have had my japanese lessons before, I have the old 4th grade NOKEN degree and the 10th level KANKEN degree, I’m gonna start from zero, in order to refresh everything and get used to the Textfugu method from the beginning.

So following the first lesson I have to say why I’m learning japanese. The reasons are a lot, and maybe some of them not pretty well defined, so I’m gonna pick the 2 reasons I think will be the most enjoyable ones when I get to THAT point:

I’m learning japanese because I want to be able to understand all the meaning of all the Utada Hikaru Shiina Ringo and Tokyo Jihen songs and I wanna be able to play RPG’s in japanese.

    there it is :)

Hi again to anybody and I hope to enjoy the journey here

    Carlos.

    Hello Carlos,

Ahhh cool. Being able to play japanese RPGs, that could be one of my reasons, can I borrow it ;-)

Just like you I already trieded to learn japanese from different ways, my best was my evening-cours for 3 years. An just as you there came “Life” and you do not got the time anymore to learn and review ass you wish to. So I just began like you from zero 1-2 weeks ago ^_^

    Greetings from Luxembourg,

    Hi Carlos,

    Thank you for borrowing ^_^

Well now I’m at Season 2-7.9 and it begins to become more challenging no, because of the vocabulary. Now I have to move on normal speed through the lessons, even if I already know some of the grammatics that will follow in the next lessons.

Where are you at the moment and how do you proceed?

I’m gonna start right now with the kanas, I’ll guess I’ll fly over this first parts, but I wanna see the method and how it works from the beginning. :)

    Just like me.
Now it becomes at least a bit challenging. I made it to season2 8.4 in 10 Days. With taking a lot of notes. I’m on my second notebook. I love to take my notes by hand, even if it takes longer than typing.
