After taking a prolonged break from studying the Japanese language (give or take a few short sessions, and the occasional Japanese tunes.) I have decided that it is something I need in my life. I have returned to Textfugu after roughly two years of not studying religiously. Much of my vocabulary has faded, however my knowledge of the language mechanics the same. Odd. Regardless, I wonder where I should start back at it. Vocab, and kanji is what I’ve been working on.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    SinisterT.

    Welcome back!

How far through the seasons were you?

The same happened to me. I stopped for about a year. I was only on season 3 (had studied more elsewhere), so I just started back at the beginning to make sure I got all my Anki decks straight (Anki 2 now).

I had finished all available seasons, and lessons at the time, and was well on my way to heading to Seattle for the JLPT. However, other more pressing matters came up, and required my immediate attention. I have been fairly busy, but am now ready to continue my studies.

Ah, in your position I’d skip TextFugu completely and just download the Ultimate Anki decks from:

    http://www.textfugu.com/dl/

    and

The Core 2k/6k Vocabulary Anki deck:

    https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1102215805

    And I’d continue grammar with:

    http://www.imabi.net/

In case you missed it, I also did a thread with my master list of other Japanese resources:

    http://www.textfugu.com/bb/topic/japanese-learning-resources/

    Have you used WaniKani?

    for the grammar.
If you know what you don’t remember, you can look the specific topics up e.g. on TF or guidetojapanese.org.
I hope you get into it again.

Also, I gave Wanikani a looking at during it’s early phases, wasn’t too impressed, however. Worth looking further into?

It’s hard to say, as I’ve only recently joined.
