Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I watch a lot (a LOT) of interviews with Japanese people. Mainly on my news podcasts, but also some on Youtube. One thing that I’ve noticed is that often, the people being interviewed have water bottles. But I haven’t seen a water bottle (that I can remember) without a straw in it. I find this confusing because in America, I feel like people usually just drink straight from the bottle/cup. But I’ve never seen a time where the bottle doesn’t have a straw in it. Anybody else notice this??

Not just water bottles… usually cold drink in public places in Japan is served with a straw. It looks nicer, no?
