Hello everybody and please accept my admiration because you are learning Japanese! I am a Russian living in England, have always wanted to learn Japanese (fascinating country, been there, loved it!) and every person i talked to says I am crazy. So I went to TextFugu just to check how crazy I am.

Enjoying it so far enormously. Please forgive me if I misspell English…always do this when excited. And thank you in advance for sharing your tips about learning!

Wow, that’s awesome. I’m not sure if I could ever learn Russian, it looks confusing.. but to you it’s probably a whole lot easier than English. You’ll be the first one I call if I ever decide to learn Russian, haha. It’s really impressive that you are using a learning resource not in your native tongue! I would fully offer my English skills, as I hope to major in English in college. Not that you necessarily need it! Just, if you ever do. :)

Mike, you are really nice. Thank you, I will be more than happy to ask for your help if I encounter something I can’t comprehend! Very best of luck with Japanese. I have always found that people who can speak and read languages out of the mighty five league (English, German, French, Spanish and Italian) are really cool. They took trouble to learn something that is alien to a European eye!

Hello Yulia, I am new here as well. I actually started learning Russian a few months ago (Здравствуйте!), but where I am at for school there are no Russian tutors that I could find so I decided to give it a break for a while. I do find that text fugu is really convenient though, and it’s a lot cheaper in the long run:P Just curious though, what got you into learning Japanese?

Your English is great by the way:)

Здравствуйте, Warren. Thank you a lot for your message and the compliment about my English! It was highly appreciated. In case you do decide to go ahead with Russian I will be more than happy to help, support and encourage. Russian is not easy but may be useful…in the end until an alternative source of fuel is found Russia is the one with huge undiscovered reserves (smile). Who knows? I have beed to Japan a couple times, hope to go there again. I have an enormous respect for this nation and its culture. So just wanted to be able to read and say a few words to show my respect! And I think learning a foreign language is a brilliant brain training!
