    maybe I should make an introduction too :>

    Okay so I really like languages, but I have my problems learning them. Languages are fascinating, there are so many I want to understand, but it takes a lot of time and work. I speak english and german and theoretically I should be able to speak a little bit french but the last time I used it was six years ago, so nah …
    Since textfugu has a very good concept I wanted to try it out, so japanese let’s go
    My goal is it to be able to understand japanese people (eg in movies, shows, interviews) without the usage of subtitles, voice overs or interpreter.

    Hello Rae.
    Alors tu comprends le français? ;-)
    I’m also speaking german and french. And I had almoste the same problem, as you. I got a lot of people here around, who are very talented in learning an speaking japanese, and me…. I have a lot of problems to recognize the words I already learned when I hear them :(

    I also think that this side is a good way to get it done. :)
    Greetings from Luxembourg,

    Oui, je comprends. mais je ne suis pas bien (???) Je ne sais pas ….
    haha oh god. I shouldn’t do that ^^;

    Yes recognizing words by hearing is hard, because people often have their own accent or dialect. We probably have to study hard to reach the ability to understand the basics so we can learn just by hearing. I mean when I was good enough to start watching tv show on english I learned so much new words and different pronunciations. It was awesome. Being able to undersstand something that was gibberish at first made me really happy.

    Hello Rae. If you want to learn several languages and think it is a slow process, I think you should check out this site too. http://www.fluentin3months.com/
    It’s pretty cool imo. From a little time ago, the dude behind FluentIn3Months made a 5 days e-mail course of getting started in any language. I can upload the e-mails if you want me to.
    The dude’ philosophy of language learning is that you’ll learn it incredible fast if you just begin to speak it as fast as possible. I don’t know how many languages he speaks but it is many.
