I’m looking for some Anki decks to cover onomatopoeia. I’m only on season 4, so if there is a deck available on TF already, can you point me towards it? If not, does anyone know where I could get one?
P.S. Kind of a second question here; does anyone know a good place to get a Pokemon Ruby vocabulary deck (as in it covers most the vocab in the game)? I know that’s a lot of vocab, and the grammar is likely a little (a lot) beyond me, but I think I could figure it out if I knew most of the words. If you know of one, I would be eternally grateful.

I hope that^ sums it up. About that script, I wouldn’t know where to start. I’m a horrible coder (that is what you’re talking about. unless you want me to write a script for a play. I’ll just write that play, how ’bout it?). :( So off I go to kill myself several times, with short breaks in between to add more onomatopoeia!

Don’t think a script would work: there isn’t one strict pattern to follow. Plus, how is it supposed to pick the right kanji?
Sound-effects are (so far as I know) invariably kana. The trick is to work out whether it’s hiragana or katakana.

Actually, the delimiters are fairly easy to spot. Equals sign and newline. The issue of having several equals signs on one line is easily fixed with a steady hand or a simple line in a script. All in all something most office workers should be able to do in Excel.
I’ve taken the opportunity to turn them all into kana => English cards (mostly katakana, see below for explanation). Some kana had several meanings, so I changed them to say (Meaning 1) and (Meaning 2). I realize it’s not ideal, but it can be easily fixed by someone who wants to use the deck.
It’s got around 570 cards, and has not been tested to any real degree, so I’ll have to say beware. However, it appears to function as it should.

Which explains when to use katakana and when to use hiragana. I’ll try to update the deck to reflect this, although it also says that it can be up to the writers discretion to choose which syllabary to use, so it’s not the end of the world if you learn them “wrong” in this deck, as either one can do. :)

Ah, that’s my mistake. I read that he also wanted a Pokemon vocab deck, and for some reason, I didn’t realise everything in the link was onomatopoeia; thought it was just standard vocab in response to his second question (didn’t look at it too well) >.< I wasn’t thinking properly about the script thing either…
I’ll just go now…Wait… what’s your mistake? The not realizing everything?
Edit: I want to ask; how can I edit my original post? It will only let me edit the things I just posted. I wanted to fix the link for “eternally grateful”. It was supposed to link to a picture of those three aliens from Toy Story. Hmm. Maybe I should watch the Japanese dub for Toy Story now.
