What does せ mean at the end of a sentence? Here is the sentence where I saw it: 「今日は花金でっせ！！」 I think the sentence means “Thank God it’s Friday!” or “TGIF!” or something to that effect. However, I’m not sure what kind of tone せ conveys. Is it masculine, informal, forceful, positive? Thanks a lot!
My guess would be that でっせ is a colloquial or slang version of です, and certainly masculine.

Stumbled across that the other day for whatever reason; can get the gist of what’s going on at least. A quick search for でっせ doesn’t show anything, so my guess is that if it’s colloquial then it’s not very common. Could always be a typo :PI think it is Osaka-ben. “てっせ” is used in place of “ですよ”.
