Ahoy, Aikibujin!
It’s interesting to see your shift in interest in the MA field. Would you say you’re more somebody who wants to travel and explore, and practise different martial arts – maybe for spiritual awareness, or some kind of ‘release’? < I would like to try this for these reasons and more.
Do you have a favourite martial art, or one you’d really like to practise in?
Thanks for your post!
Cassandra,
Oh, jeee! Student loans! Well I guess money’s a more pleasant excuse than something like a physical disability, or pregnancy, or a criminal record, etc.
Never the less, it seems you’re not gonna let it stop you one bit! I like your attitude. It’s quite inspiring, I must say :D
Gigatron,
That’s very fair enough, I got the wrong idea; I thought you meant martial arts, too. Sorry :D But yeah!, hopefully we will, very soon! Let’s study hard, work hard, and play smart. We’ll definitely deserve a home on the Land of The Rising Sun if we stay disciplined!
Pyrites,
Thanks a lot! I took a cheeky look on your profile and read your posted topic! Very lucky to be moving there, this year! I hope you have a great time!
Hashi,
Thank you for the warm welcome! It’s great to be here!
Cassandra,
Oh wow! What a way to get into it! So it was your husband’s “fault”? :D Is there a place in particular that draws most of you attention in terms of moving there? And I see you’ve been studying for quite a while… That’s excellent. How fluent are you? And have you not yet visited because you’ve been unable to or you just can’t decide when or where to go? (21, questions! Sorry!).
Alejandro,
Thank you for this information! I may have to follow the page, yes! I’m interested to see how the kanji part works out, too. I wanna know what methods the guy uses, cause I remember him sneaking in a little hint of his way with kanji at the end of the first app.
Durub,
Thanks alot for this. I’ll have to set it up very soon, though I may wait a while before using it as I can read Hiragana characters but don’t have a very wide vocabulary in the Japanese language.
Cheers again!
Oooo, nice! Quite a lovely sum of replies. Thank you, everyone!
Gigatron… Are you currently training in any specific martial art, and do you have a favourite fighter?
Tsetycoon13… Thanks! Nice to meet you.
Armando… You’re so right! Thanks!
Winterpromise31… Hello, Cassandra! Thank you very much! Have you created a topic on your reason for learning Japanese? I would like to give that a read :)
Alejandro:
I bought it a while ago and usually pull it out when I’m waiting for something or traveling. I really like the little cultural notes as well, I found the notes on pronunciation really useful, and I like that it shows how to write the characters because that really helped me distinguish similar characters and helped me learn them faster.Overall I think it is a good sort of beginner’s crash course. The only complaint I have is that it completely neglects kanji. At the end he reiterates that the app covers just some of the basics and that much further study is required, but I’d recommend it.
Ah, this is handy to know! I had a feeling people on here would be know what’s legitimate. Thankyou!
If I recall correctly, didn’t the author (at the end) say he’s developing an “update” or “new app” which will cover advanced lessons?
You know anything about this?Thanks
Astralfox:
はじめまして。 <–(Is it ok to use that on the internet?)I just downloaded the lite version (chapters 1-8). I’ve already covered all the language, but I’ll probably buy the full version because it looks promising. The cultural texts are a nice feature and the numbers quiz mode is cute.
Thanks for the tip.
No errors in lite btw.Hajimemashite :)
^ I’m not sure about uses on the internet. I’m sorry I can’t help in return!
How did you type this, anyway? Did you just copy and paste or do you have a nifty keyboard programme? But yeah, if you think it looks promising, I guess that means I can rely on the tips for pronunciation and writing when I’m out and about.
Thankyou for your reply!
