Huh. So, could I include the topic and still be grammatically correct? Like this: “わたし が ほん が ほしい です。” And would both がs would be referring to わたし?

Wow, two answers already! Thanks! Yeah, “because I wanted to” is definitely a reason, and as long as one has the motivation for it, one could definitely make it work. And I’m sure there are a lot of people to whom “watching anime” is a compelling reason in itself. And the more I learn about the Japanese culture, the more I feel like visiting Japan would be really cool. Maybe I’ll make that my long-term goal.
